Gene Lambert (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1952) studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
Solo exhibitions include Limerick City Gallery of Art, Limerick (1999); ‘In The Land of Punt’, David Hendriks Gallery, Dublin (1991); Third Eye Gallery, Glasgow (1988); Houset Gallery, Copenhagen (1987); Bradford, England (1987); and ‘Work from a Dark Room’, Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin (1985). As a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy, he exhibits regularly in RHA group shows. He has exhibited regularly in the Irish Exhibition of Living Art, in 1982, he represented Ireland at the 14th International Festival of Painting in Cagnes-sur-Mer in France. In 1991 he co-edited The Great Book of Ireland with the poet Theo Dorgan.
Apart from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon’s collection, his work is in the permanent collection of Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin; Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; Ulster Museum, Belfast; Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Office of Public Works (OPW).
