McMahon, Beatrice
Bea McMahon b. Ireland 1972, studied at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
Solo Shows include Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, Dublin (2012); Flat Time House, London (2011); Green On Red Gallery, Dublin (2010, 2008); and ‘True complex’ with Brendan Earley, Void, Derry, (2008). Group shows include ‘All Humans Do’, White Box, New York and The Model, Sligo (2012); Pallas Periodical Review, Pallas Projects, Dublin (2011); and The Lab, Dublin (2011).
McMahon’s work is included in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin, the Office of Public Works(OPW) and the Arts Council of Ireland.
Bea McMahon‘s works with installation, performance and moving image try to find a poetic form of agency between animals and the world.
Recently she has been doing theatre in the gallery space. She writes geometrical script-scores that are coupled to the performers and sometimes to sculptural forms.
