Menary, Derek
Derek Menary (b. Belfast, Northern Ireland) initially studied under G.G. McCann, then at Belfast College of Art, followed by a Studentship with Belfast Arts Theatre. In 1970, he became a student at Dartington College of Arts, Devon.
Solo exhibitions include Goldmark Gallery, Rutland, England (1999); On Line Gallery, Southampton (2001, 1999, 1997, 1995, 1993); Salon des Arts, 9 Palace Gate, London (1997, 1995, 1993);Tom Caldwell Gallery, Belfast (2004, 2002, 1994, 1993). Group exhibitions include regular shows with McKenna Gallery, Omagh, Northern Ireland (2009- 2012); Jonathan Poole Gallery, UK (2005-2012); Fosse Gallery, Stow-on-the-Wold (2006-2009); and Artmill Gallery, Plymouth (2009- 2012).
He is represented in the collection of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. Other collections representing Menary’s work include The Royal Bank of Scotland; The National Trust; The Arts Council of Northern Ireland; Office of Public Works (OPW), Dublin; Aer Lingus and private collections in UK, Europe, USA and Australia.
