Carmichael, Seamus

Biography

Seamus Carmichael (b. Derry, Northern Ireland, 1955) attended Ulster College of Art and Design in Belfast.

 

He was Northern Ireland's Rome Scholar in 1981-2 completing a series of prints illustrating the work of Irish Poet Padraic Fiacc. He is currently Secretary of the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts, and organises the exhibition series at HACC's Lebanon Campus. His involvement in Celtic Music has led to the creation of the long-running Third Saturday sessions at Patsy Fagan's Irish Pub. His most recent projects have combined art and his interest in song to put together digital images in CDs of Celtic Christmas songs and songs relating to James Joyce's Ulysses.

 

His work is held in the collection of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and in private and public collections in Europe and the United States.
