Reid, Chris
Chris Reid (b. 1918 and d. 2006) was born in Ballina, Co Mayo. She moved
to Dublin in her late teens to work in applied arts and later studied at the
National College of Art + Design. Best know for her paintings and printmaking
she was a Board member of the Graphic Studio Dublin and the Watercolour
Association of Ireland.
Chris Reid (b. Mayo, Ireland) studied at National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
Solo shows have included presentations at Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2004); Kennedy Gallery, Dublin (1990); Kenny Gallery, Galway (1982); and Brown Thomas Gallery, Dublin (1968). She first exhibited at the RHA in 1965 and has regularly exhibited since. Oireachtas and Irish Exhibition of Living Art are among the other major group shows she has participated in.
Her work is held in the collections of Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon; and Office of Public Works (OPW).
