Buckley, Jim
Jim Buckley (b. Cork, Ireland, 1957) attended Crawford School of Art, Cork.
Solo exhibitions of his work include ‘Rainbow, LOOK 2005!’ a series of five large-scale light installations, created for five Architectural landmarks in Aberdeen (2005); New Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, Scotland (2004); and CCA Glasgow, with Jim Hamlyn (2003). Buckley has exhibited in group exhibitions at Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, England (2003); Port Glasgow Old Library, Scotland (2003); Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, England (2002); and Smack Mellon, Brooklyn, New York (2002).
He is represented in the public collections of Arts Council of Ireland/An Chomhairle Ealaoín; Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin; Scottish Arts Council, Edinburgh; Cork City Corporation; Contemporary Irish Art Society, Dublin; Szatmar Museum, Hungary; Le Ministere de la Culture Francaise; Crawford Municipal Gallery, Cork; and Glasgow City Council among others.
