Brady, Charles
Charles Brady b. New York, USA, 1926 and d.1997, Dublin, Ireland, studied at The Arts Students League, New York.
The RHA held a posthumous retrospective of his work in 2002. Other solo exhibitions include the Babock Gallery, New York (1967), Taylor Galleries (1995, 1987-93, 1984, 1979-1981), Davis Gallery, Dublin (1971) and Grant Fine Arts, Belfast (1994). He participated in group shows at Charles Campbell Gallery, San Francisco (1987-90); Caldwell Gallery, Belfast Two Artists with John Middleton (1975) and with Rosaleen Davey (1977); Penn. Academy, Philadelphia (1967); Babcock Gallery, New York, (1965) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (1950). He also exhibited regularly with Figurative Image, Irish Exhibition of Living Art, Oireachtas, and Royal Hibernian Academy.
Brady’s work is included in the collections of Bank of Ireland, the Ulster Museum, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, and the Arts Students League, New York.
