William McKeown, (b. 1962 Tyrone, Ireland and d. 2011).

Solo exhibitions include Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2012); Kerlin Gallery (2012, 2002, 1999); the Golden Bough project at the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, (2011); Ormeau Baths Gallery Belfast (2010, 2002); the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin (2008); Project Arts Centre Dublin, (2003); and Douglas Hyde Gallery Dublin (2001). Two Person exhibitions include ‘Traces of Light’ with Felix Gonzales Torres, Middlesbrough Museum of Modern (2010), and ‘Pool’ with Dorothy Cross, Kerlin Gallery (2010). Group exhibitions include Venice Biennale, 2005, representing Northern Ireland, ‘A Dream of Discipline,’ Douglas Hyde Gallery (2006); and ‘Collecting the New’, Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin (2010).

His work is represented in many private and public collections in Europe, the UK and Ireland, including The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
