Biography

Fergus Martin (b. Cork, Ireland, 1955) studied at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.

Solo Exhibitions include Green On Red Gallery, Dublin (2011, 2009, 2006, 2001, 1999, 1996, 1994); Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane (2008); Butler Gallery, Kilkenny (2003); Triskel Arts Centre, Cork (1999); and Project Arts Centre, Dublin (1997). Recent group shows ‘With words like smoke’, Chelsea Space, London (2010); ‘Yo, Mo’ Modernism’, Centre for Contemporary Non-objective Art,  (2008); Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin and Oriel Mostyn Gallery, Wales (both 2006).

Martin is represented in the public collections of The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin; Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Cork; Limerick City Gallery of Art; The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon; The Office of Public Works (OPW); The National Self-Portrait Collection and Limerick City Gallery of Art, Limerick.
