Davey, Rosaleen
Rosaleen Davey (b. Belfast, Northern Ireland, 1947) studied at the Ulster College of Art, Belfast and at Leeds University.
Solo exhibitions include the Cavanacor Gallery, Co. Donegal (2001); Ayesha Castle Gallery, Co. Dublin (1997); Butler Gallery, Kilkenny (1996); RIAI Gallery, Dublin (1995); Taylor Galleries, Dublin (1993, 1991, 1989); Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast (1992); and the Caldwell Gallery, Dublin (1982). Davey has exhibited regularly at all the major group exhibitions in Ireland, including the RHA, Independent Artists, and eva International, Limerick. Others include Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin (2000); ‘Vital Presence’, Belltable Arts Centre, Limerick (1998); SADE ‘82, Municipal Art Gallery, Cork (1982); and The Irish Exhibition of Living Art (1978).
Her work is represented in many of the major public collections in Ireland. Among these are The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Contemporary Irish Arts Society, Boyle Civic Collection, Allied Irish Banks and the Office of Public Works (OPW), Dublin.
