O'Dea, Michael
Mick O’Dea (b Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, 1958) studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin; University of Massachusetts; and Winchester School of Art in Barcelona and Winchester.
Solo exhibitions include Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin (2012, 2010, 2007, 2004, 2002); Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, France (2006); Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise (2005); and RHA, Dublin (2001). He has exhibited from 1990 to 2009 at The RHA Annual exhibitions, Dublin and from 1982 to 1988 with the Independent Artists. O’Dea was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the first in a series of touring school shows entitled ‘The School Show’ (1986).
His work is included in a number of collections including The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, The Royal Hibernian Academy, The National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, The University of Limerick, The National Self-Portrait Collection, The National Drawing Collection, Limerick City Gallery, The Office of Public Works (OPW), The Cesis Museum of Art, Latvia and the Ballinglen Arts Foundation.
