Carman, Catherine (Cathy)

Cathy Carman (b. Portlaoise, Ireland, 1952) was educated at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Chiswick Art School, London.

Solo exhibitions of her work have included Temple Bar Galleries & Studios, Dublin (1999); Clifden Arts Festival (1991); Project Arts Centre, Dublin (1990); and Barbizon Gallery, Glasgow, Scotland (1989). She has had many public commissions for her sculpture including Blasket Island Visitors Centre, Dingle (1993) and Tuam Town Centre, Galway County Council (1997).

Carman was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Tokens’ (1993).
