Seymour, Dermot
Dermot Seymour (b. 1956, Belfast, Northern Ireland) studied at the University of Ulster.
Solo shows include Solstice Art Centre, Navan (2012); Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris (2012); Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast (2011); Millenium Court Arts Centre, Portadown (2004); the Galway Arts Centre (2002); the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin (2003, 2001, 2000). He has participated in major group shows including An t-Oireachtais Exhibition (2005); Irish Contemporary Art, Turku Art Museum, Finland, and touring to Helsinki, Oulu and Joensuu (2002-2003); and ‘On the Balcony of the Nation’, which toured the US in the early 1990s.
He was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Heroes’ (1986).
Seymour’s work is represented in the collections of, among others, The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon; the European Central Bank; The Office of Public Works (OPW); National University of Ireland, Galway; University of Ulster; Arts Council of Northen Ireland; Jobst Graevel / Model Niland Gallery.
