Biography

Nick Miller (b. London, UK, 1962) was educated at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, and moved to Ireland in 1984.

 

Some major solo exhibitions include ‘YARD’ at Rubicon Gallery, Dublin (2012); The Heritage Council, Kilkenny Arts Festival (2011); Concord Art Association, Massachusetts, USA, (2011); and ‘Truckscapes - Paintings from a mobile studio’, New York Studio School, New York (2008). In 2002 he curated the visit to Ireland of Chinese artist Chen Zhong Sen including, amongst other events, a joint exhibition ‘Chen + Miller: East + West’ at The Model Arts and Niland Gallery, Sligo. Group shows include regular participation in the RHA Annual exhibitions, Dublin; and during 2011 ‘From Highwood to home’ Lewis Glucksman Gallery, UCC Cork; ‘Apertures & Anxieties’ 300 years of Trinity’s School of Medicine, RHA, Dublin; and ‘Interlude’ curated by John Hutchinson, Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin.

 

Apart from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, other collections in which Miller is represented are Irish Museum of Modern Art; Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; RTÉ; The National Drawing Collection (Limerick Municipal Collection); The Niland Collection (Sligo); Ballinglen Arts Foundation; Boyle Civic Collection;Fujian Teachers College (China);and Dublin Institute of Technology among others.
