Biography

Janet Mullarney (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1952) studied at Accademia di Belle Arti, Florence and Scuola Professionale di Intaglio, Florence.

Solo exhibitions include ‘Things made’ RHA, Dublin (2010); Taylor Galleries, Dublin (2010); Torre dei Lambardi, Maggione, Italy (2008); centro per l'arte contemporanea, San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy (2008); Thurles Arts Centre, Tipperary (2007); and Fenton Gallery, Cork (2006). Group exhibitions of her work include International Print Biennale, Newcastle Gateshead (2011); ‘Fine Lines’, Limerick City Gallery of Art (2011); The Dock Arts Centre, Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim (2010); RHA Annual Exhibitions on numerous occasions; and eva International, Limerick (2005, 1998, 1997).

Apart from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon’s collection, Mullarney is represented in many public collections. These include Butler Gallery, Kilkenny; Contemporary Arts Society, Dublin; Casa Masaccio, centro per L'arte contemporaneo; Farmleigh House, Dublin; Dublin City Gallery the Hugh Lane; Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin; Limerick City Gallery of Art, Limerick; MACO, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Mexico; National Self-Portrait Collection, University of Limerick; and the Office of Public Works (OPW), among many others.
