Jones, Finola

Biography

Finola Jones (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1959) studied at the University of Tasmania, Australia and the University of New South Wales, Australia, and National College of Art and Design, Dublin.

 

She held her first one-person show in 1990 in Sydney, Australia and more recently solo shows have included ‘A work of memory - from a great distance’, Oonagh Young Gallery Dublin (2008); ‘It’s why [blue] birds sing’, Butler Gallery (2007); Less crushing a blow’, Void, Derry (2007); 'Artificially Reconstructed Habitats', Temple Bar Gallery (2005); and Goethe-Institut, Dublin (2004). Jones was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Inside Out’ (1993). She now directs contemporary art gallery, mother’s tankstation, Dublin.

 

Her work is included in the collection of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon among others.
