Loughman, Stephen
Stephen Loughman (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1964) studied at National College of Art & Design, Dublin.
Solo exhibitions of his work include ‘Fisherman’s Widow’ Cake Contemporary Arts, Kildare (2010); Kevin Kavanagh, Dublin (2009, 2006, 2003, 2001, 2000); and a two-person show with Mark O'Kelly, Galway Arts Centre (2007). Group exhibitions include Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin (2012); Kilkenny Arts Festival, curated by Oliver Dowling (2010); ‘Collecting the New’, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin and ‘What Happens Next is a Secret ‘ Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (both 2010); and representing Ireland at ‘Desperate Optimists’, 26th Sao Paulo Bienal, Brazil (2004).
Along with the The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, his work is among the collections of Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), The Office of Public Works (OPW) and AXA Insurance.
