Harper, Charles

Charles Harper (b. Valencia Island, Co Kerry, Ireland, 1943) studied at National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and Limerick School of Art. Harper has presented solo exhibitions at United Arts Club, Dublin (2010, 2006); Chris Doswell Gallery, Limerick (2003); Russell Gallery, Co Clare (2010, 2006); Gormley Fine Art, Dublin (2009, 2008); Gormleys Fine Art, Belfast (2008); and  Hallward Gallery, Dublin (2005, 2004).

Harper has been selected to participate in the RHA annual shows regularly since 1964 and has also participated in Oireachtas and Irish Exhibition of Living Art. Harper was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Altered States’ (1995).

Collections include San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, USA; The The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon; Cecis Art Museum, Latvia; The Arts Council of Northern Ireland; The Latvian Ministry of Culture, Riga, Latvia; and Limerick City Gallery of Art Permanent Collection.
