Biography

Arja Kajermo (b. Finland) is a cartoonist. She started working as a cartoonist for the magazine In Dublin in the 1970s.

She has regularly contributed illustrations to the Attic Press; Sunday Tribune, The Sunday Press; The Irish Times; Image magazine; Magill and Swedish daily newspaper DagensNyheter. Books of her work have included The Dirty Dublin Strip Cartoons (Poolbeg Press);En pillig sol iSärholmen (NissesBöcker 2005);Tuula-underbar, underbetaldundersköterska (NissesBöcker 2008). Some of the books illustrated by Kajermo include the children's book Address Vintergatan (Almqvist&Wiksell, 2003), Hämtakraft (UR, 2008); Get Through (Royal Society of Medicine Press, 2008).

Kajermo was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the first in a series of touring school shows entitled ‘The School Show’ (1986).
