Murphy, Jay

Jay Murphy (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1952) studied at the Dun Laoghaire School of Art and the Central School in London.

Solo exhibitions have included Norman Villa Gallery, Galway (2011, 2004); Clairemorris Gallery, Co. Mayo (2008); Kenny Gallery, Galway (2000); and Grainstone Gallery, Galway (1994). Group exhibitions have included An Gailearí, An Fál Carragh (2002); Gilvarry Geoghan Gallery, Galway and Humbert International Summer School, Killala (1989); and National Library of Ireland, Dublin (1991). Murphy was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the first in a series of touring school shows entitled ‘The School Show’ (1986).  

Her work is included in the collections of the The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and Galway County Council among many other public and private collections at home and abroad.
