Cullen, Michael

Biography
Michael Cullen (b. 1946) studied the National College of Art and the Central College of Art and Design, London. He has lived and worked abroad in Spain, Morocco, the United States, Mexico and Berlin. An elected member of Aosdána and has had many solo exhibitions across Ireland. Aside from the Arts Council Collection his work can be found in National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

Michael Cullen (b. Wicklow, Ireland, 1964) studied at the Central School of Art and Design, London and attended the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.

 

Solo exhibitions include Taylor Galleries, Dublin (2001, 1997); Graphic Studio Gallery (1997); and Temple Bar Gallery & Studios (1997). Group exhibitions include Nordens Ljus, Stockholm, Sweden (2002); Estampe, Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris (2001); Konstforum, Norrkoping, Sweden (2001); and Glasgow Print Gallery, Scotland (2001). Cullen was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the first in a series of touring school shows entitled ‘The School Show’ (1986).

 

Cullen’s work is included in private collections throughout the country and is also represented in the public collections of the National Gallery of Ireland; Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Dundee Contemporary Arts Society, Scotland, amongst others.
