Scott, Patrick
Patrick Scott (b. Kilbrittain, Co. Cork, Ireland, 1921 d. 2014) qualified as an architect but has painted full-time since 1960.
Scott represented Ireland in the 1960 Venice Biennale. Solo exhibitions most recently include the Catherine Hammond Gallery, Cork (2010); Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris (2009); an exhibition with Corban Walker and a solo show at Fenton Gallery, Cork (2008, 2005); Lemon Street Gallery, Dublin (2004); and a retrospective at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane (2002).
Apart from The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Scott’s work is included in many public and private collections, including Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; Ulster Museum, Belfast; the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; and the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin.
