Tyrrell, Charles
Charles Tyrrell (b. Meath, Ireland, 1950) studied painting at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
Solo exhibitions have included Solstice Arts Centre, Navan (2011); Crawford Art Gallery, Cork (2011); Taylor Galleries, Dublin (2009, 2007, 2001); Fenton Gallery, Cork (2003) and Butler Gallery, Kilkenny (2002). He represented Ireland at the Paris Biennale in 1982, and has exhibited in major group exhibitions at Allihies Copper Mine Museum, Cork (2010); Catherine Hammond Gallery, Cork; Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2010); VISUAL, Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow (2009); Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Cork (2009); the Oireachtas Exhibition (1973-78); and the Irish Exhibition of Living Art (1972-82).
His work is represented in all major Irish collections including The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Trinity College Dublin, and Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) among others.
