Landweer, Sonja
Sonja Landweer (b. Holland, 1933) studied at the Academy School of Industrial Design, Amsterdam. Landweer has been living and working in Ireland since 1964.
Solo exhibitions include ‘A Life’s Work’ VISUAL, Carlow (2011);a two person show with Jennifer Hickey at the Peppercanister, Dublin (2010); one person shows at Peppercanister Gallery (2006, 2001); a two person show with Rudolf Heltzel at The National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny (2004); and Rudolf Heltzel Gallery, Kilkenny (1988). Group shows include Peppercaniter Gallery, Dublin (2013); Lavit Gallery, Cork (2012); Fenton Gallery, Cork (2006, 2002); ‘Six Amsterdam Potters Together Again’, Galerie Amphora, Amsterdam (2000); and regular shows with the Hendriks Gallery. Landweer was commissioned by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon to produce work for the touring school show ‘Tokens’ (1993).
Her work is included in the collections of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and Ulster Museum, Belfast.
