Byrne, Michael

Michael Byrne (b. Dublin, Ireland, 1923, and d. 1989) studied painting at National College of Art and Design, Dublin and King Alfred's College, Winchester in the UK.

His solo exhibitions include Chris Dowell's Print Gallery, Limerick (1995); Inglewood Library Gallery in Los Angeles; Project Arts Centre (1968-71); and Setanta Gallery, Dublin (1974, 76, 81). He was included in major group exhibitions Irish Exhibition of Living Art; Independent Artists; RHA and Dublin Sketching Club annual exhibitions.

His work is held in the permanent collections of The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and National Self Portrait Collection, University of Limerick.
